The Nigerian Beauty industry has continuously grown in leaps and bounds over the years. From one or two key players in the early 2000s to now a conglomerate housing several popular brands. It is no secret that Nigerian women love makeup, but what are some of the top indigenous brands out there? After a careful survey we have complied a list of Nigerian brands, while some of these brands are created by Nigerian women, others were created outside of Nigeria, but are solely being distributed by Nigerian partners.
So in no particular order here are the TOP Nigerian Makeup Brands;
House of Tara
Founded in 1998 by Mrs Tara-Fela Durutoye( who is the chief executive officer and creative director of House of Tara International) House of Tara is one of Nigeria’s foremost indigenous brands. This brand is made up of both makeup products, brush sets and makeup artist bags which are handy for when a training case is not practical. House of Tara has franchises all across Nigeria and with emerging footprint on the west African coastal countries of Cotonou and Senegal. BMpro
Full name: Banke Meshida professional makeup. This brand was birthed in 2006 by one of Nigeria’s Top makeup artists; Banke Meshida Lawal.
This brand boosts of over 65 products in the Nigerian market. They produce makeup products that are non-comdogenic ,not tested on animals and suitable for sensitive skin. They are popularly known for their BMpro foundations, eyeshadow and face primers. A go to for Bridal makeup, BMPro outlets and schools can be all over the country.
Zaron
With its popularity in the past two years, it is hard to believe that this Brand was conceived in 2010 in Leeds, United kingdom and began operations in Lagos, Nigeria in September 2011. Zaron has stamped its name in the minds of makeup loving Nigerians as the go-to brand for young color loving makeup enthusiast. The brand has done a superb job marketing itself, that it has become the official makeup brand for a lot of popular television shows and television personalities. The Zaron brand trades under the names of Zaron international limited, Zaron cosmetics limited and Zaron hair products limited. While Sleek is a well known international brand, Sleek Studio NG is a high end makeup and hair brand run by 2 sisters, Ify and Ebele Ugochukwu.
The Beauty loving sisters, introduced the franchise in Nigeria, along with unique features like stand-alone beauty boutiques, face of Sleek competition, and Sleek skincare line. The Sleek studio NG brand has enjoyed phenomenal success in Nigeria and has evolved and expanded its product lines over the years. over the years and has included several businesses and product lines.
Khuraira Cosmetics
A Pioneer and celebrity makeup artist of over 20 years, Khuraira Musa is the founder and creator of Khuraira cosmetics, a luxury , full colour cosmetics line for women of all ages, colour and skin conditions. Beauty insiders hail Khuraira for her innovative products as well as techniques that address skin concerns.
LISE BEAUTY RANGE
LISE beauty range was one of the first cosmetic lines created for Nigerian women by a certified US based makeup artist Eni Balogun in 2006. The brand has gone on to diversify its product portfolio to include Skincare products and recently a spa.
